iOS Beginners

Are you a web or mobile developer wanting to learn iOS Development? Our iOS Beginners course will teach you the building blocks of this platform. Suitable for developers competent in any programming language.

What you will learn:

  • Intro to Objective-C, Cocoa, history of the platform, MVC architecture, “big picture” overview.
  • Gestures and touch events
  • View controllers and navigation
  • Q & A Session
  • Working with tableviews, scrollviews, filters and sorting mechanisms
  • Brief intro to network calls for REST API services
  • Creating a fully-featured sample app based on what is learnt

Skill requirements:

All candidates will need prior knowledge of the below in order to attend the session:
  • Object-oriented programming skills
  • Prior knowledge of any other programming language,such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Ruby, etc
  • Knowledge of the Mac and OS X (advantageous)

System requirements:

Candidates will need a Mac with OS X “Mountain Lion” with the following software already installed and ready to use:

  • Xcode 4.6 (freely available from the Mac App Store)
  • Instashare (freely downloadable from http://instashareapp.com/ )
  • For those willing to install applications in their own devices, they will have to install the required certificates and provisioning profiles prior to the training session, and also bring their iOS device running iOS 6 or later (iPad, iPhone or iPod touch) with its corresponding USB cable.
  • It is recommended to install Instashare for iOS in your iOS device as well (available for free on the App Store)
